House of Welcome

House of Welcome is an organisation in Granville run by St Francis Social Services that supports individual and families seeking asylum and disadvantaged young people and their families. House of Welcome is receiving an unprecedented number of calls from people who have lost their jobs, are unable to pay rent, and struggle to put food on the table. In the past four weeks, they have experienced an increased number of requests for financial assistance and food. Some clients who had been living independently for months without relying on HoW’s assistance now call us requesting them access the food bank service. People who contact them sound distressed and anxious. Please support their Coronavirus Response appeal here: https://www.stfrancis.org.au/house-of-welcome/make-donation-house-welcomeThe funds will go towards emergency financial assistance, food, and medication.

Support Jesuit Refugee Services

The Jesuit Refugee Service is a work of the Society of Jesus that is based in Westmead and Rushcutters Bay. It accompanies, serves, and advocates for refugees and people seeking asylum in Australia - often facing destitution, limbo, and homelessness. They offer dignity and hope through emergency assistance, temporary shelter, a foodbank (in which food is now delivered to people’s homes), professional casework, community activities, employment support, school engagement, legal advice, advocacy, and a project to empower women seeking asylum. During this period of COVID-19, your support is desperately needed. Please read the image below for ways that you can help.
